D-Day Landings – Normandy Explored

This exclusive 4 day tour provides guests with a fascinating insight into the grand plan we know as Operation Overlord.

We trace the actions of hundreds of thousands of brave Allied troops as they landed by sea and air into occupied Europe in an attempt to rid the world of Nazi tyranny. Not only do we see some of the most famous sites, we hear the personal stories of those that landed on the ‘longest day’ and fought on in the weeks after D-Day.

Day 1: Pick up from convenient place for you. We cross the Channel and make our way across France headed for Pegasus Bridge to hear of the incredible glider landings here. Next stop is the Ranville Commonwealth War Graves cemetery before we check into our beautiful hotel in Bayeaux.

Day 2: After a good breakfast, we make our way to Merville Battery to see the fortifications and hear of the men that were tasked with attacking these guns. We drive along the coast taking in Sword, Gold and Juno beaches We visit the 360 experience cinema above the beaches of Arromanches where the Mulberry Harbour can still be seen. We round off our day at the impressive Longues-sur-Mer Battery

Day 3: We start our day at St Mere Eglise and visit the excellent museum here. On to Point du Hoc where the American Rangers scaled the cliff face before engaging the enemy. Next we visit Omaha beach and the stunning cemetery. We finish the day with a stop at La Cambe German Cemetery

Day 4: Today we make our way back home after a memorable tour and we drop you off at an agreed convenient location for you

Price from EUR 2,900 per person and includes

  • Day 1: Table experience for 2 people, overnight stay at Manoir Henri Giraud in a Grande Chambre with free access to the thermal baths.

  • Day 2: Breakfast, privately guided wine tour – full day. Stop at Abbaye Hautvillers. Private Dom Perignon tasting. Gastronomic dinner at Les Avisés (wine/champagne not included) Overnight stay at Manoir Henri Giraud.

  • Day 3: Breakfast followed by a visit to the Ruinart Chalk cellars (private driver)

You can then extend your Champagne experience with a night in Reims if you wish (not included in the price)
