The Luberon is the heart of Provence

Close your eyes and dream of Provence and the chances are you are seeing the Luberon: spectacular landscapes of vineyards and lavender, fascinating ‘perched’ hill-top villages, daily markets and outstanding natural produce, all bathed in the pure light of van Gogh and Cezanne.

The Day:

  • 1/ full day Luberon 9.00am / 6.00pm

  • 9.00am departure from Aix en Provence (or within the region)

  • 10.00am arrival in Gordes :

  • Gordes, a majestic village on the edge of the Luberon Regional Nature Park. It's the perfect image of a Provencal hilltop village, as you'd expect.

  • Built of dry stone, you'll reach its summit via a winding road. From the top, you'll see olive and cypress trees stretching as far as the eye can see, giving you the impression of overlooking the Luberon.

  • 11.00am Then, drive to Bonnieux:

  • Bonnieux, a Provencal village dominated by its 12th-century church surrounded by ancient cedars.

  • And finally drive to Lourmarin :

  • Lourmarin is famous for its Renaissance château. Its verdant setting makes it an unmissable stopover during your stay in Provence...

  • 6.00pm: drop off on Aix en Provence
