Bandol and Le Castellet

Full Day

Bandol and Le Castellet

Bandol is located between Marseille and Toulon and is particularly well known for its rose wine as well as its sandy beaches.

Its famous south-facing vineyards were awarded the first AOC label in 1941. Today, almost fifty winegrowing estates work the vines and the famous Mourvèdre grape, which gives Bandol wine its unique character and is found on the finest gourmet tables:
Bandol wines are undoubtedly the most famous in Provence, and Bandol rosés are among the best in France.

  • 9.00am meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel

  • Departure by bus to Bandol to visit a vineyard and enjoy a wine tasting.

Head for the Bandol PDO, named after the port from which its wines were exported. The rosé produced here is incredibly fresh and fruity, and you'll have the opportunity to discover this while enjoying a wine tasting at a private estate.

  • Lunch on your own

In the afternoon, drive to the village of Le Castellet. Medieval hilltop village with breathtaking views over the surrounding vineyards.

The village of Le Castellet is one of the Var's top tourist attractions. This superb little feudal village perched atop its promontory will charm you with its picturesque Provencal architecture, its little squares lined with beautiful old houses carefully restored and its old stones tastefully enhanced.

You enter Le Castellet through 2 fortified gates, then let yourself be guided along the narrow streets by potters, leatherworkers... scented candles, ceramics and jewelry.

From the esplanade of the 15th-century château, which now houses the town hall, you'll have an exceptional panoramic view of the Sainte Baume massif and the vineyards and estates at the bottom of the village:!

THE PAUL RICARD CIRCUIT IN LE CASTELLET

Le Castellet is also famous for its motor racing circuit (located just a few kilometers from the village), which hosts major car and motorcycle races. The Paul Ricard circuit is Le Castellet's main attraction, attracting many tourists and racing fans who come to spend a few days in Le Castellet before or after a race, to enjoy the beauty of Le Castellet village and the surrounding area.

The Paul Ricard circuit was inaugurated in 1970 and has hosted many prestigious F1 and other car races, as well as motorcycle races. It has been the battleground of the world's greatest champions! We highly recommend attending this impressive spectacle at least once in your life!
